Regional 491/494 Visa
In November 2019, the Australian Government introduced two new regional visas, including the Skilled Work Regional/491 and the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional/494 visas. If you are under 45 and are willing to live and work regional Australia (anywhere outside Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane), then these visas may be for you. Both the 491 and 494 visa programs offer a pathway to permanent residence after living and working in a regional area for at least 3 years.
Skilled Work Regional/491 visa general requirements:
1. Your occupation appears on the Combined list as 491-eligible
2. You are under 45
3. You have a positive skills assessment for your occupation
4. You have at least competent English
5. You can score at least 65 points
Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional/494 visa general requirements:
1. You have an employer who is willing to sponsor you
2. Your occupation appears on the Combined list as 494-eligible
3. You are under 45
4. You have a positive skills assessment for your occupation
5. You have at least competent English
